Dirac Debuts First Cloud-Based Streaming Service For Its Growing Portfolio Of Mobile Audio Solutions At Mobile World Congress 2017

UPPSALA, SWEDEN, 27 February 2017 – Dirac Research, the global leader in sound optimization technology, today introduced Dirac Connect, a first-of-its kind cloud-based service that allows end-users to stream Dirac’s suite of mobile audio optimization solutions directly to their mobile device. By doing so, smartphones and tablets are transformed into powerful on-the-go home theatres capable of delivering premium and substantially-enhanced listening experiences. Dirac Connect, which will be offered to end-users through mobile device manufacturers and content providers, will be unveiled and demonstrated at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 from 27 February to 2 March 2017.

“Dirac Connect is a next great step in the evolution of streamed content,” said Erik Rudolphi, Dirac’s General Manager – Mobile. “With it, mobile device manufacturers and content providers can now offer their products and services fully-optimized by Dirac’s mobile audio solutions, thus allowing them to sound significantly better than they had before. With this technology, streaming customers can now engage in an entirely new listening experience that’s immersive, dynamic and intensely realistic – all without requiring an upgrade to expensive headphones or speakers.”

The Dirac mobile solutions currently offered through Dirac Connect include Dirac Power SoundDirac Panorama SoundDirac HD Sound and Dirac Sensaround – the former two are speaker-optimization solutions, compatible with products such as Harmon Kardon’s Mini Esquire, while the latter are for headphones. With Dirac Connect, users purchase and download these mobile solutions – specifically the algorithms and tunings of each Dirac solution, designed by Dirac’s golden ears to fit each make and model of the user’s headphones and wireless speakers – through the respective online and app stores of the manufacturer or service provider. From there, device speaker and headphone audio quality is immediately optimized, delivering to the listener a noticeably enhanced listening experience.

“Those who live for years with poor vision often describe that moment when they first try on eyeglasses as illuminating – true clarity and precision is perceived for the very first time,” concluded Rudolphi. “Dirac Connect, and our entire suite of mobile audio optimization solutions, offer eyeglasses for your ears. It provides those listeners currently accustomed to average audio with the opportunity to upgrade in real-time to a premium listening experience that they never knew existed through their current mobile device and headphones. And for manufacturers and content providers, this is a powerful gift to give their customers!”

Dirac’s suite of mobile solutions is currently utilized by, among many others, OPPO, Huawei, and Xiaomi – three of the world’s top five largest mobile device manufacturers – in addition to blue chip technology companies in the automobile and home theatre markets such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Volvo, BMW, Datasat, Harman, Pioneer, and many more.
