Furman Sound/Panamax, a world-leading provider of power management solutions, today announced that its i-Series of power management products was recognized at CEDIA EXPO 2007 with three leading industry awards. The Elite-15 PF i was the recipient of a CustomRetailer Exc!te award and was named by Electronic House as one of its Products of the Year for 2007, while Furman‘s IT-Reference i-Series took home the RESI award for best power management product.
The Electronic House Products of the Year were chosen by the editors of EH Publishing‘s four magazines dedicated to the electronic house. Their decisions were based on reviews that ran throughout the year, product demos, and talking with the installers and users of the products. New products were judged on the promise of features that the editors felt would be great. Topping the list of criteria was technological innovation, combined with overall value and outstanding features.
The RESI award, presented by Residential Systems magazine, honors the most innovative product designs in the custom installation industry and was judged by an esteemed panel of custom installers and industrial designers. The Exc!te award, presented by CustomRetailer Magazine, pays tribute to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented for the custom installation professional. The winners were selected from hundreds of nominations received and judged by the magazine‘s editorial staff.

Furman‘s i-Series products feature bold yet elegant new designs with smooth contours of black steel and silver brushed aluminum complemented by clear blue LED lights. At the center of the Elite-15 PF i is Furman‘s unique Power Factor Technology, which ensures that low-level analog, digital, and video components are not modulated or distorted via the power amplifier‘s extreme AC current demands. In addition to technologies such as Discrete Symmetrically Balanced Power, the IT-Reference 15i and IT-Reference 20i have been optimized with a new “Dual-Screen” technology that provides greater noise reduction for the clearest audio and images.
All i-Series products feature Furman‘s proprietary Series Multi-Stage Protection Plus (SMP+) technology, which combines three filtering and protection circuits: Linear Filtering Technology™ (LiFT) suppresses noise dramatically and consistently across the entire dynamic range; Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) clamps and dissipates damaging transient voltages at the highest degree available without sacrificing itself; and Extreme Voltage Shutdown (EVS) circuitry protects against prolonged overvoltages by shutting off the incoming power until the overvoltage condition is corrected.
