Gefen, a leader in the digital connectivity arena, today announced it received three prestigious awards at InfoComm in Orlando.

The editors at Commercial Integrator magazine, together with editors from TechDecisions media, selected just 13 winners from more than 100 entries. Gefen was awarded in the higher education category for its participation in the installation at the Advanced Visualization Lab (AVL) at Indiana University. Installed in-house by Chris Eller, team lead at the AVL, this lab supports visualization-related activities in research, education and community-related outreach. It provides access to progressive systems that assist teams in computing, designing, visualizing, simulating and modeling 3D cyber systems. The most recent implementation is the addition of a Gefen Wireless Extender for HDMI (EXT-WHD-1080P-SR) in-room plug-and-play solution. This uses a stick sender that connects directly to a laptop and transmits high definition content to a projector or display located up to 33-feet away. The AVL uses this solution to accommodate third party presentations of guest speakers at the podium, eliminating the need for wires.
The Gefen Multi-Format Processor (EXT-MFP) was designated Best of Show by editors of AV Technology magazine. Anonymous judges walked the floor, talked with product experts and awarded products based on versatility, reliability, overall value and feature robustness. Singled out among thousands of other products, Gefen’s Multi-Format Processor provides source switching, format conversion with automatic scaling plus independent digital and analog audio routing with comprehensive mobile control options.
Gefen’s Matrix Controller (EXT-CU-LAN) was also selected as an “Editor’s Pick” by Commercial Integrator’s product editor Bob Archer, who selected the Matrix Controller as one of 13 best products at Infocomm. This seamless solution enables users to control a virtual matrix system consisting of Gefen’s AV over IP products. It offers a comprehensive interface that is accessible by any web-enabled device, including smart phones, tablets and computers. This affords tremendous flexibility in source and display placement, as well as expansion scalability.
