SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 8, 2016 – Scottsdale Community College, one of the campuses within the Maricopa Community College District in Arizona, recognizes that investments in technology benefit both the school and students alike. SCC has partnered with Troxell Communications, a leader in education systems integration for almost 70 years, to install a 9.1 surround sound, laser projection cinema room utilizing Sony’s VPL-FHZ700L 3LCD laser projector…making the school the first of its kind within the district.
However, SCC required clear-cut technologies and specifications for the project.
“SCC had previously purchased Sony’s VPL-FHZ55 4000LM 3LCD laser projectors for other areas of the school,” explained Austin Hermes, Troxell account executive for the project. “Installation went flawlessly and those involved with the project were extremely happy with the results. But when it came to the cinema theatre room, it was definitely a more complex job due to specific requirements. Since they had previous experience with Sony’s laser projector technology, they came armed with a clear list of features they wanted.”
The necessary specs required the projector to be lamp-less, 1080P, high resolution, and high lumens. It also needed to be a 3LCD laser projector and it could not be a hybrid model. There usually is never a clear-cut solution to any one problem when it comes to making sure customers are getting the best their budgets allow, but sometimes specific requirements can offer a custom fit.
“Basically they were requesting the Sony VPL-FHZ700L,” Hermes continued. “It’s simply the best there is in this arena.”
Installations were finished in 2015, which instantly made Scottsdale Community College the first of its kind within the Arizona Community College System.
