Almo Professional A/V Hosts Five-City Samsung SUR40 Certification Road Show

Half-Day Training Held at Microsoft Training Centers

in Irvine, Calif.; Chicago; New York; Reston, Va.; and Dallas

Philadelphia, PA — October 10, 2012 — Starting next week, Almo Professional A/V, the nation’s fastest growing audiovisual distributor, is bringing free certification training for the Samsung SUR40 40-inch HD Interactive Touch PC with Microsoft PixelSense to resellers, consultants and integrators across the country.

The five-city training event kicks-off in Irvine, Calif., on Oct. 15 and runs as half-day morning and afternoon sessions. It features in-depth training from the experts at Samsung, Microsoft and Brawn Consulting and is designed to give participants the instruction required to sell, specify and deploy the SUR40. With access to the SUR40, Almo Pro A/V partners can now bring an entirely new dimension of sharing, collaborating and exploration to commercial applications with the first large, thin display that recognizes fingers, hands and other objects placed on the screen.

About the SUR40

The SUR40 is designed especially for use in hospitality, retail, education and finance applications. It can recognize unique optical tags and detect physical objects placed on its surface, such as room keys or a retail item which then trigger a response. Applications can be installed on the SUR40 that will allow it to share information from Internet and Bluetooth technology devices, while allowing content to be dropped and dragged from the device to the SUR40 surface. And, it can recognize and react to more than 50 points of contact simultaneously, to allow multiple people to collaborate and connect.

The SUR40 can be used as a table, mounted on a wall or built into a custom fixture to increase interactivity. With HD quality and four built-in speakers, the visual and sound quality provide a fully immersive experience.

The Microsoft PixelSense vision-based technology is what enables the touch and object recognition capabilities of the SUR40, so applications respond to tagged objects and people’s fingers. The SUR40 also features powerful computing, blazing speed, and quick and simple multitasking with fast and powerful graphics. It can be customized to exactly fit the specifications of the organization. And its four USB ports allow for content to be limitless and for peripherals such as scanners, video cameras and printers to be attached, creating an even more powerful business tool.
