RCF Upgrades Acustica Series Passive Subwoofers

(Edison, New Jersey) RCF has announced an upgrade to their popular Acustica C Series passive subwoofers with increased power handling and lower frequency response. The series includes the S8015 15” subwoofer, S8015 LP low profile subwoofer, S8018 18” subwoofer and S8028 double 18” subwoofer.

New hyperventilated neodymium transducers with larger voice coils have allowed for more power capacity, higher output and lower frequency response.

Let’s take a look at the differences:

• S8015 MK2 – Bass reflex 15” low frequency transducer, now with 4” voice coil. Increase of power handling from 800W to 1500W RMS. Lower frequency response ranging from 35-200 Hz. Increased max SPL to 133 dB.

• S8015 LP – The “LP” stands for low profile. As a band-pass model, the compact format of this 15” low frequency transducer cabinet makes it ideal for under stage and low profile situations at stands just under 15” tall. 800W RMS. Frequency response 43-250 Hz. Max SPL of 135 dB.

• S8018 MK2 – Bass reflex 18” low frequency transducer, now with 4” voice coil. Increase of power handling from 1000W to 1500W RMS. Lower frequency response ranging from 30-200 Hz. Increased max SPL to 137 dB.

• S8028 MK2 – Bass reflex dual 18” low frequency transducers, now with 4” voice coil. Increase of power handling from 2000W to 3000W RMS. Lower frequency response ranging from 30-200 Hz. Increased max SPL to 141 dB.

The Baltic birch plywood enclosures are designed for permanent installation environments painted in black, heavy duty textured epoxy with power coated front metal grille. Two Neutrik Speakon connectors in rear recessed input plate. The cabinet also has one M20 pole mount adaptor and integrated handles on the cabinet sides.
