InfoComm 2011 will be hosting 300+ seminars. Here are a few classes that will feature Green AV and Sustainability.

Sustainability Standards Liaisons Forum

  • Session Number: IST7
  • Session Date: Tuesday, 6/14 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Speakers: Various AV Professionals
  • Tracks: Standards and Best Practices
  • Ability Level: Intermediate
  • Description: This track is intended for audiovisual professionals involved in business development, project management, sales, and facility management. Standards are new to the AV Industry, and there are many that come from other associations and interact with audiovisual projects. This day will feature the audiovisual professionals involved with other standards-setting bodies regarding sustainability issues, and will be both informative and interactive. InfoComm’s Standards and Best Practices will be introduced as the audiovisual industry’s response to the need for sustainability initiatives. There will be six separate sessions.

In an effort to harmonize AV systems with emerging “green” practices, this standard defines and prescribes design elements that enable the management of the system’s overall power consumption. This workshop will survey how the control, monitoring, and use of electric power for audiovisual systems leads to energy conservation through the use of specific components, design principles, and operational management. The verification of conformance to the Standard will be discussed, and sample test reports will be evaluated.

Integrated Building Technology: Control Systems for the Future
