  1. L-Acoustics introduces the L1 and CS1
    L-Acoustics has unveiled the L1, the flagship of the L Series, and its companion cardioid subwoofer, CS1. Built on L-Acoustics patented Progressive Ultra-Dense Line Source (PULS) technology, L1 sets a new reference for stadium sound systems that has already been entrusted to the world’s biggest stages. L1 has been deployed on Bruno Mars’ The Romantic tour with Clair Global, for Harry Styles’ Together, Together tour with Solotech, and on Joker Xue’s world tour with MRT, as well as a debut at the Brit Awards in London with Britannia Row, a Clair Global company. CS1 delivered the low end on the main stages of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with RAT Sound, and Ultra Music Festival with Unreal-Systems/AgorA.
  2. Huawei integrates a full-color projector into headlights
    At this year’s Beijing Auto Show, part of Huawei’s Qiankun technology conference, the company debuted a new car headlight platform that integrates a full-color projection system for both safety features and recreational fun. The new XPixel platform has been upgraded from its previous iteration, which was only available in monochrome, to now feature full-color projection that can throw a 100-inch picture onto a wall or projection screen. According to Huawei, this is the first time full-color projection has been adapted into automotive headlights.
  3. Samsung withdraws from China’s TV and audio market
    In a surprising move, Samsung has confirmed that it is withdrawing from the TV, monitor, projector, and audio product markets in China. “In response to the rapidly changing market environment, after careful research, Samsung Electronics decided to stop selling all household appliances, including TVs and monitors, in the mainland Chinese market,” announced Samsung China. With the exception of smartphones, Samsung will cease the sales of all consumer electronic products in mainland China.
  4. Sphere to expand to two more locations by 2030

    Las Vegas’ $2.3 billion Sphere venue has been a runaway success, and Sphere Entertainment is looking to capitalize by opening up two more venues by 2030. The company has announced that Yas Island has been selected as the location for Sphere Abu Dhabi, and will be investing $1.7 billion into the project’s construction phase. Like the Las Vegas Sphere, it will have a capacity of up to 20,000, depending on the configuration for a given event. Other similarities include a 16K x 16K LED screen inside, 167,000 speakers, and an exterior LED screen running 24/7. Additionally, a 6,000-seat “mini Sphere” is coming to National Harbor in Maryland with a target opening of 2030.

  5. Milab makes its return
    Swedish microphone manufacturer Milab, founded over 85 years ago, is officially back after filing for bankruptcy last August last year. The company has confirmed that production is back and full swing, and the first microphones have begun leaving the factory.
    Production in Sweden is being led by Production Manager Hans Svensson, who has worked with building Milab microphones for the past 40 years. The company’s flagship VIP-60 is the first model being manufactured since production has begun again. Milab has confirmed that it has begun development of new product lines that expand beyond its classic portfolio, and has revealed that upcoming releases will include both modern studio tools and new designs for studios and broadcast.
