Make Your Voice Heard

Apr 9, 2013 4:16 PM

This is the time of year to make your voice heard. You can vote for your go-to products, and draw attention to your best installations—even opening them up to peer voting. Your work in the field makes you an expert on which products have the right stuff and which installations were cool or groundbreaking—including your own.

Here’s how to get involved with the NewBay/InfoComm awards cycle that starts now and culminates on the show floor in Orlando, Fla.

VOTE FOR PRODUCTS

The Rental & Staging Awards are now open for voting at http://www.avnetwork.com/RentalStagingAwards. These long-standing awards, founded by my colleague David Keene and presented at InfoComm, honor the best rental and staging products introduced between July 2012 and March 2013 for the staging market or AV rental market. Categories include loudspeakers, video projection, LED, plasma, and LCD display, lighting, processing and distribution, mixing and control, streaming, and more. You will choose from finalists in each category and can vote in one or all. Voting deadline is Monday, May 6, 2013.

The SCN InfoComm Installation Product Awards are open for voting at http://www.avnetwork.com. These awards honor the most innovative installed products that shipped in 2012, from manufacturers exhibiting at InfoComm 2013. Categories touch the broad range of products necessary for successful installation: accessories, racks, mounts, acoustic treatments, screens, loudspeakers, video display and projectors, networking, signal management, amplification and processing, power conditioning and control, as well as products from key market categories including collaboration, digital signage, audio/videoconferencing. You will choose from finalists in each category and can vote in one or all. Voting deadline is Monday, May 6, 2013.

SHOW OFF YOUR INSTALLATION

The 6th Annual Pro AV Spotlight Awards, produced by Sound & Video Contractor and InfoComm, honor integrators for innovative projects completed between November 2011 and February 2013. Categories are organized by vertical market: corporate, education, government, healthcare, houses of worship, hospitality/restaurant/casino, retail, entertainment/arts, and museums. To enter, go to http://www.svconline.com. Judging will be done by a panel of industry experts; awards will be presented in a ceremony on the show floor at InfoComm 2013. Entry deadline is Monday, April 29, 2013.

The AV Technology Awards produced by AV Technology magazine, honor technology managers and end-users for innovation in installations. Categories acknowledge the range of challenges these professionals face in the field; they honor accomplishments in best use of AV for emergency preparedness, distance learning, healthcare, rich media data management, command and control, ROI in non-retail digital signage, inhouse communications and social networking, and retail, as well as awards for the best use of mobile app for AV control, most unusual use of telepresence, and most improved sound system. If you know you broke new ground on a project, submit it at http://www.avnetwork.com. Judging will be a panel of industry experts. Awards will be presented at InfoComm 2013. Entry deadline is Monday, April 29, 2013.

VOTE FOR INSTALLATIONS

The 1st Annual InfoComm People’s Choice Awards will be determined by popular vote on the show floor at InfoComm. Any badge holder is eligible to vote in person at the awards pavilion. Fifteen finalists will be featured at the pavilion for your consideration, chosen from among all entries in the Pro AV Spotlight and AV Technology Awards. The awards honor excellence in systems integration in the categories of corporate, education, government, healthcare, and hospitality/leisure.
