He will also represent the association in coalitions relating to integrated building technology and create webinars and other resources for InfoComm members.
Weidman holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Structural Design/Construction Engineering and an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM).

InfoComm Announces Dates for First Latin American Tradeshows

InfoComm International and its regional partner Latin Press, are delighted to announce date and venue details for their first two tradeshows in Latin America.

The joint venture’s new tradeshow brand, TecnoMultimedia InfoComm, will get its first airing at the International Convention and Exhibition World Trade Center, Mexico City from August 11-12, 2011. This event will be followed on November 9-10, by a similar show at the Plaza Mayor Medellin International Convention Center, Medellin, Colombia.

“After the signing of our agreement to create the TecnoMultimedia InfoComm joint-venture company last month, our Latin American event initiative has made rapid strides and we are really excited at the prospect of hosting these two regional events,” said Terry Friesenborg, Senior VP, International Development, InfoComm International.

“Both the Mexican and Colombian shows will give us as the opportunity to present our education offering, to promote our new and existing industry standards, and to publicize the benefits of InfoComm membership—all in front of an audience that is new, dynamic, and open to fresh ideas.”

“The Latin American market for professional AV products and services is growing tremendously and offers huge potential to manufacturers seeking new sales opportunities for their products and services,” said Max Jaramillo, President, Latin Press. “Our own sales team already has great local market knowledge and, by partnering with us, exhibitors participating at either or both of these shows will get all the support they need.”

Last year, around 1,000 AV and facilities management professionals attended the first TecnoMultimedia event in Medellin, where Latin Press hosted 35 exhibition booths. Jaramillo believes that, with InfoComm now onboard as a joint-venture partner, the event will grow quickly.

“The response we had to our initial offering in Colombia last year was overwhelmingly positive,” Jaramillo concludes. “In InfoComm International, we now have the perfect association partner not just to take this event to the next level, but also to use it as a platform from which to launch other shows, of which the Mexico City event in August will be the first.”

Exhibit sales for both events will be handled by Latin Press. Interested parties should contact Sebastian Fernandez, VP Sales and Operations at +1 305.285.3133, ext. 71 or [email protected]
