For people who are hungry and in a hurry, pouring over a lengthy drive-through menu isn’t an option. Which was exactly the challenge facing Amigos/King’s Classic, a Mexican fast food favorite with more than 25 locations across Nebraska. The chain has an extensive menu, which includes breakfast, Amigos favorites, King’s favorites, and even the restaurant’s own custom line of coffee. When they were looking for options to display their standard menu while still promoting daily specials, limited offers, and best-selling items in a way that wouldn’t visually overwhelm drive-thru customers, Amigos/Kings Classic Service Manager Jim Aust discovered SunBriteDS and, based on the product’s ease of use, brightness, and display clarity, purchased a weatherproof 47in. outdoor digital display shortly after.
With a wide range of harsh weather conditions, Nebraska can be a tough environment for outdoor displays. The unpredictable environment was a key factor in Aust’s decision-making process, but he also needed something that could overcome both direct sunlight and darkness to present a discernable image.
“I was really impressed with the image resolution after we got the dis- play up and running,” says Aust. “It’s bright and the colors are so crisp. The whole display exceeds our expectations.”
All SunBriteDS displays are designed for year-round outdoor operation, and include a watertight cable entry system that prevents moisture from interfering with internal electronics; specialized gaskets and powder-coated exteriors make all SunBriteTVs and SunBriteDSs completely weatherproof and impervious to rain, snow, insects, dust, rust, and grease. A variety of SunBriteDS outdoor digital signage solutions are available, in portrait and landscape options in a wide variety of col- ors and sizes. All models are equipped with high-NIT screens capable of showing a bright, HD image any time of day or night. Touchscreen capabilities are also available for appropriate commercial applications.
The outdoor display for the Amigos/King’s Classic sources its con- tent from a media player connected to a computer. Aust can update the display from anywhere so long as he is connected to the internet, saving him time both now and later down the road. “When we start add- ing more SunBriteDS displays to our other restaurants, I won’t have to worry about updating them separately,” says Aust. “I can update every display with one click of a button from our corporate office.”
That’s a big benefit to Aust, since there are so many Amigos/King’s Classic locations around the state—and more coming. Aust’s time saved from traveling around Nebraska to update individual displays can be better used toward overseeing more important elements of the business.
“This is my first time working with SunBriteDS or needing an out- door display,” says Aust. “I don’t see us using any other brand for our future locations; these are so easy to use and work perfectly for what we bought them for.”
