Case Study: SCOR, NY

As one of the first built projects to envision how a post-pandemic workplace can look, SCOR’s NYC headquarters relocation was designed to ensure each employee had a strong sense of belonging whether in the office or as part of the company’s remote workforce. The 75,000 sqft., 2-floor fit-out delivered technology and spaces aligned with the global reinsurance company’s belief in creating an innovative and dynamic working environment to facilitate collaboration, complete with audiovisual systems designed and integrated by USIS AudioVisual as well as the IT & communications infrastructure/structured cabling.

The design/build project delivered AV for multiple flexible conferencing spaces including thirteen small conference rooms, thirteen medium conference rooms, four multi-person phone rooms, a boardroom, two CEO offices, marketing office, guest executive offices, divisible room, reception area, and café with town hall system.

Systems enabled crucial workplace interactions including video conferencing, wireless presentation and content sharing from any personal device, company branding and communications, and town hall capabilities. All video conferencing systems embraced a hybrid work model ensuring in office and remote participants are equally engaged via video collaboration software (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) presenter tracking cameras, and powerful audio pickup and noise blocking with next generation microphone arrays.

AV technology highlights include: 100” Planar LED Display, Samsung LED Displays, HDMI wall and table connections, Poly X30 & X50 All-in-One Video Conference Bars (camera, microphone array, speakers) with TC8 Touch Controllers, Poly Pano Wireless Video Interfaces, Poly Medialign Videoconference System, Poly RealPresence Ceiling Microphone Arrays, Biamp Ceiling Microphone Arrays with Automatic Beam Steering & LED Status Lights, Shure Wireless Microphones, Audio DSP with custom programming by USIS AV, Sonance Full-Range Ceiling Speakers, Extron Power Amplifiers, Extron Multi-format AV Matrix Switchers, Crestron Touch Panels and Control Processors with custom programming by USIS AV, and BrightSign Networked Digital Signage Players.

Equal weight was given to both the in-office and remote employee experience, making SCOR’s new headquarters one of the first to embrace the hybrid workforce model, designed and built during the global pandemic. With software-based video conferencing in every space, BYOD touchless content sharing, and a larger quantity of smaller meeting spaces, SCOR’s office is an example of how we return safely to the workplace and how we collaborate with that workplace when we’re outside it.
