Expanding on their revolutionary QuickMedia (QM) Transport technology, Crestron recently introduced iMedia (IM) for simple, PC-only room applications. Crestron adds composite video signal management to its iMedia family of products. IM offers a simplified, streamlined, and more cost-effective alternative to QM or traditional control system designs.

IM is a one-wire solution, transmitting power, control data, computer signals, high-quality audio, and now composite video all over a single Cat-5e type cable. For a boardroom, conference room, or classroom that requires basic projector control and source selection, iMedia offers an incredibly simple, low-cost solution.

The new IM receivers all feature composite video outputs to the projector or plasma in addition to the computer, audio and control connectors. Each of the IM transmitters, including wall-mount, lectern-mount, and flush-mount FlipTop boxes, are available in a choice of either computer-only or computer-with-composite-video inputs. The output signal from the transmitter to the receiver is the exclusive Crestron iMedia one-wire solution. All signals are transmitted on the single IM Cat-5e-type wire.

iMedia features Crestron e-Control for realtime device control over a network, and is compatible with RoomView remote management software for full-system monitoring and maintenance from any PC on the LAN or WAN. Crestron iMedia is a powerful, low-cost solution for the most basic rooms in a facility.
