JBL Professional 4181 Cinema Subwoofer
JBL Professional has introduced the 4181 Cinema subwoofer system, a movie soundtrack reproduction subwoofer for basic cinema applications. The 4181 features an 18in. low-frequency transducer mounted in a direct radiator, bass-reflex enclosure. The driver unit uses a vented cooling loop, which pumps air through the magnetic gap and directly over and around the voice coil, providing immediate heat transfer. The 3in. voice coil, using dual coils in parallel and with holes in bobbin, offers thermal stability and increased power handling. The system is able to carry a 500W continuous pink noise rating. The enclosure is constructed of dense stock and is braced on all panels. It is tuned to 30Hz with three large ports to minimize port compression.
