Networked Digital Signage System at Legends Entertainment District

Legends Entertainment District in Phoenix spans from the US Airways Center, home of the Phoenix Suns, to Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. A key feature of the district is a state-of-the-art digital LED network that keeps visitors entertained and updated throughout the area, in addition to providing outdoor marketing opportunities for Legends’ partners. Completed in December 2011, the digital LED network consists of four main areas: a 50ft. LED tower outside each facility, an LED board on the façade of Chase Field, and large tickers at the district’s light rail stop.
The entire digital LED network is driven by X2O Media’s Xpresenter digital signage software.
“Content management is a vital aspect to any network, and especially one of this size and complexity,” says Stacie Roberts, director of operations of the Legends Entertainment District. “It is essential that our staff be able to update content quickly and easily to capture the attention of visitors, in addition to having the ability to target content to the appropriate LED boards. To meet these needs, we chose X2O Media’s Xpresenter digital signage platform.”
The Legends Entertainment District staff manages content updates to the network from a control room at Chase Field. With Xpresenter, the district has the ability to run a partner’s ad on every screen in the entire digital LED network, target select displays throughout the corridor, or even narrow in on one specific display. Content updating for the scrolling tickers is automatic. X2O supplies the Legends Entertainment District with the live RSS feeds, which automatically populate displays throughout the District to keep visitors up to date in realtime.
