11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. — “Managing the Digital Conversion” presented by Jim Barnwell

They say everybody’s doing it, but just how do you transition your television facility to digital? How do you keep operating while making the transition? In this easy-to-follow, step-by-step seminar you’ll learn the nuts and bolts of managing the transition to digital. You’ll learn how do deal with issues of monitoring, routing, audio and video synchronization, assimilating legacy equipment, wiring pitfalls, and aspect ratio conversion. [Course Code: FTM01]

1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. — “Communicating Effectively: Building and Growing Your Technical Team” presented by Bill Gillette

Communication within ministry is as important as any system or component. We sometimes overlook the vital role of the operator and the importance of building and growing both individuals and the team. This seminar addresses the planning, coordination, and communication aspects of the tech team in order to apply the tools, technology, and talent to effectively communicate the gospel. 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. — “Lighting Design and Application for Today’s Worship Experience” presented by David Rauch

Whether it’s emotionally moving your audience, creating specific lighting for dramas, finding just the right design application, or just knowing how to bring everything together to create a professional look to your worship experience, this session will cover the spectrum of lighting techniques, from basic mood-setting to advanced effects for recording. Friday, March 17
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. — “Developing Consistency With Your Sound (Why Doesn’t it Sound Like Last Week?)” presented by Bill Gillette

In this day of ever-advancing technology and demand for excellence, one struggle facing the church is how to achieve consistent, quality sound as part of the worship service. In this course, we’ll explore several variables associated with “bad sound” and present solutions to alleviate the accompanying headaches. [Course Code: FTM04]

1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. — “Directing the Live Event” presented by Steve Cowart and Wes Hartley

The key to directing a live event is preparation. That’s it. End of discussion! However, if you do decide to attend this session you’ll learn valuable information that can help you do a better job of capturing an event on video. We’ll discuss different styles of directing and watch clips showing examples from some of the leading churches in the country. [Course Code: FTM05]

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. — Planning, Implementing, and Sustaining Multi-Site Worship Venues presented by Wes Hartley
This session will address the technical, personnel, and logistical challenges associated with satellite/remote campus worship venues, as well as the many advantages to this growing church trend. [Course Code: FTM06]

Saturday, March 18
8:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. — Worship & Praise Sponsored by the Fellowship of Technical Ministries and open to all expo participants and attendees, “Worship & Praise 2006” is an interdenominational Christian worship service open to all NSCA exhibitors and attendees.
