Da-Lite equipment rack carts

Racks and mounts are the mainstays of quality installations in our industry and can often set an integrator’s work apart from his peers. You will recognize some of these manufacturers, but some might be new to you. In total, this is a group of incredible products designed and built by our industry’s unsung heroes.

Da-Lite Dual-14 equipment rack cart

RACKS AND CARTS

Da-Lite manufactures equipment rack carts ideal for housing AV gear in boardrooms, conference rooms, or classrooms. These handsomely designed carts come in 12-, 21- and 30-rack space sizes with standard veneers and laminates. There also is a 17RU size with a keyboard shelf. A cooling fan, dual bottom vents, and oval-shaped cutouts provide air circulation, but still allow some noise suppression from the devices in the rack.

IMS Engineered Products, a 2008 global supplier of precision sheet metal fabrications and electromechanical assemblies, bring us two categories of equipment racks: Amco Enclosures, which are mainly used for data and other electronic equipment storage, and Installer’s Choice for AV racks. Both product lines are engineered, designed, and built in the United States. Amco Enclosures’ TitanEP frames feature multi-formed main channels in each of the four corners to provide exceptional weight support for electronics. They are available in many RU heights, widths, and depths, come in 12 standard power-coated color finishes, and all have a 10-year warranty.

There are several models and types available from Installer’s Choice. The SnapRax frames are knockdown AV racks and can be assembled in fewer than three minutes with eight screws total. They have a 20in. overall frame width and are available in depths of 20in. and 26in., with RU heights of 8, 14, 21, 29, 37, and 43.

The PTN fully welded racks feature wider main channels for larger cable bundles, increasing the overall rack width to 24in. They can easily be joined together or used as standalone racks and are available in 12 standard colors, as well as custom colors. All Installer’s Choice racks include a 10-year warranty.

RX3 rotating racks pull out from closets and recessed walls providing easy AV equipment access. They rotate and lock in place at 60 and 90 degrees in both directions, making equipment installation simple. The rear cable management system comes with cable lacing bars to guide and tie down cabling and is available in heights of 12, 16, 21, 24, 28, and 30RU’s and is available in depths of 19in. and 23in. Purported as the strongest in the industry, and using SnapRax technology, they assemble in less than 10 minutes.

The WMRwall mount racks are cost-effective, smaller system solutions for mounting electronics equipment in secured and non-secured areas. The WMR racks are 24in. wide and available in center-section depths of 12in. and 17in., with RU height options of 12 and 18.
