Roland Systems recently introduced a compact version of its popular S-4000 digital snake system. The S-1608 digital snake is easy to use and quick to install. The small-format, portable audio snake offers a high-quality audio signal ideal for bands, corporate AV events, seminars, rental and staging houses, and house of worship applications, without the high-frequency losses and bulk of an analog snake.
The digital snake features high-resolution 24-bit/96kHz audio quality in a 16-input by 8-output configuration with a floor-based or rackmountable design. Remote-controllable preamps using an S-4000R or free RCS software are available. Roland’s REAC technology can transfer all channels of audio via the Gigabit Ethernet port of a PC computer directly into a DAW software program by Cakewalk.
