RTcom USA OBHD HDMI and OBCA DVI Fiber-optic Extension Products
RTcom USA has introduced a new version of its popular OBHD HDMI and OBCA DVI fiber-optic extension products. The revised products offer the same reliability and compatibility of the original models and add versatility and lower cost for deployment. The OBHD-2C and OBCA-2C operate with two strands of multimode or single-mode fiber-optic cable. With transmitter/receiver prices comparable to more common Cat-X solutions, the models offer a more effective solution for deployment of fiber than ever before, according to the company. As video systems move toward digital, so does the need for commercially robust and reliable extender solutions. There are three general extender device types available: those that transmit uncompressed video over Cat-5 or Cat-6 network data cable; those that send compressed, packetized video over IP networks; and those that transmit uncompressed digital video over common fiber-optic cable.
