Paul Allen, President of Allen Products Company (www.allenproducts.com), announced the acquisition of ATM Fly-Ware (www.atmflyware.com), a widely recognized brand of both standard and custom rigging and suspension systems for loudspeakers. Allen Products Company serves the installed sound market with standard off-the-shelf loudspeaker mounting and suspension solutions.

This acquisition brings Allen Products much closer to its mission of being able to provide, under one roof, any pre-engineered, load rated mounting and suspension solution, whether for permanently installed or live sound applications. Solutions will range from the smallest of satellite speakers to the largest of loudspeaker clusters and line arrays.

“Combining ATM’s engineering resources with Allen Products customer service and off-the-shelf capabilities will bring the art and science of A/V mounting and suspension solutions to the next level,” observed Allen. “The potential of having everything a customer needs to install sound at a job site is huge! Plus, we will be creating a wider variety of new products and services that promise to save even more time and money.”

“I knew that the ATM Fly-Ware brand would blend perfectly with the Allen brand,” commented Andrew Martin. “Combining these two brands will positively affect the industry and achieve new levels of service our industry has never before seen. I believe that this is timely and crucial as audio and video systems get more complex.”

ATM Fly-Ware has extensive expertise in live sound and offers both custom and standard suspension solutions. Their extensive industry experience includes both permanently installed and portable suspension systems for medium to large applications.

“I am very pleased at how well these two companies blend together,” said Allen. “We believe that by combining the resources of Allen Products and ATM Fly-Ware, we will have created the single largest resource for quality mounting and suspension designs in the world. In addition, now we will have the combined resources to design and fabricate any custom designed mounting or suspension system, regardless of its complexity.”

“Basically, if you want to fly or install anything off the ground, we have the team to handle it safely – with the best people, products, and resources, all from the same source,” added Allen. “More often in today’s complex contracting environment, OEMs, contractors and touring companies need a complete resource for pre-engineered solutions. I am proud to say that we will now be able to provide almost anything that a customer may need, and all from one location.”

Another exciting aspect of this acquisition is in the expansion of the design and engineering center. This center will be the key to providing customers with complete engineering services for their installations, all while innovating new time saving products.

“The ATM Fly-Ware team,” says Martin, “will be moving into one of the buildings at the Allen Products Company complex located in Signal Hill, California, just eight miles from our own facility here in Carson.”

The Allen Products and ATM Fly-Ware brands will continue to expand their respective services for contractors, OEM accounts, touring companies and live sound clientele separately, as they do today.

“I think it is important to maintain brand continuity while allowing the design teams to collaborate together within their respective disciplines,” says Allen. “I am very excited about the creativity that this will foster, which is already evident between the two design teams. Our industry stands to gain significantly from this synergistic process.”

Andrew Martin started ATM Fly-Ware in the mid 1980’s and it has grown into the most respected company of its kind in the industry. Allen Products came on the scene a few years later focusing, at first, on timesaving loudspeaker mounting solutions and later expanding into overhead suspension systems. Both companies have grown significantly since their inception and both are widely recognized as being tops in their fields of expertise.

As for Andrew Martin, he plans to move on to new opportunities outside the production world, but will take with him fond memories “I have been involved in the audio production industry since I was 15 years old. I am now excited by the opportunity for professional and personal growth by becoming involved with a new team of talented executives in a growth organization with high aspirations for success,” said Martin. “The transition of ATM Fly-Ware to Allen Products will give me the chance I have been waiting for. I am glad to see the company that I built and ran for over 15 years be acquired by Paul and continue to grow on into the future.” Martin is assisting with the transition and will serve in a product advisory capacity through 2005.

Both companies will be headquartered in Signal Hill, Calif., serving customers worldwide.
