Advanced Media Design (AMD), developer of the award-winning AV-over-IP collaboration technology MediaPointe, announced a special bundle of its acclaimed MPEG-2 Digital Network Streamer (DNS) products targeted specifically for educational institutions. This bundle simplifies the purchase process for educators and provides a starter kit in a cost-effective package. This bundle offers clients a 20 percent savings over the purchase of the separate components.
The DNS series of products allows educators to stream full motion video up to DVD-quality with audio, over IP networks from one location to many, thereby extending the digital classroom.
The Education Bundle is comprised of six DNS150 series composite/S-Video decoder cards and six DNS100 blade-based series encoders. The MediaPointe digital media management system’s 21-slot chassis is also included with redundant power supplies for unparalleled reliability. A one-year maintenance agreement, which provides 24-hour advance replacement complete with free software upgrades, rounds out the package.
“Our education-based customers consistently requested a specific group of products to use as a platform for streaming video,” says Colin Sturtevant, vice president, sales and marketing, AMD/MediaPointe. “This bundle demonstrates that we are listening to our customers’ requests and acting quickly to fulfill their needs.”
Customers can also scale the base bundle to fit specific applications, and include other MediaPointe products such as software players and its award-winning Digital Media Recorders. This offers unlimited flexibility to an educator’s capacity to provide quality content to their students.
