Analog Devices, in a joint development effort with Sony, has created an analog front-end (AFE) chipset for the digital camcorder market. The AFE architecture, designed for Sony by Analog Devices, increases the pixel count of Sony’s Digital Handycam camcorder. The Analog Devices chipset features 520 lines of video resolution and a still-image performance of 1,152 infinity 864 pixels.
