ICIA Elects Governors and Officers

The International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) has elected its 2003 Board of Governors and the presiding officers of its major councils, as well as appointed chairpeople for key committees. Tom Peters, CTS and vice president of AVWashington, Sterling, has been elected ICIA's secretary-treasurer. Russ Gentner, president and chairman of Listen Technologies Corp.; Randy Klein, vice president and COO of Crestron Electronics; and Merry McCleary, president and cofounder of BCGroup, have been elected governors-at-large. Kevin Collins, CTS, HB Communications, ascended to chairman of the board from his service last year as president. Harald Thiel, CTS, AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions, moved to president from the post of president-elect, and Scott Walker, CTS-D, Waveguide Consulting and last year's secretary-treasurer, was designated president-elect.

AVAD Joins Distributed Auto Alliance

AVAD, LLC, has joined the Distributed Audio Alliance (DAA). The goal of the DAA, a partner of the Consumer Electronics Association, is to raise awareness among consumers, home builders, and installers about the value and benefits of multiroom audio systems in the home. Consisting of a growing list of companies in the audio, structured wiring, and home networking fields, the DAA serves as an educational resource of information about products, solutions, and companies in the multiroom audio space, in addition to educating home owners about the entertainment and financial benefits.

Digital Cinema Report Joins ICIA Network

The International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) and Digital Cinema Report have announced that the online news service for wide-screen production and presentation is now a content partner with ICIA's InfoComm News and Information Network, available online at www.infocomm.org. News content from Digital Cinema Report is now available as a regular feature. For additional information about Digital Cinema Report, visit the Web site at www.digitalcinemareport.com. The ICIA is a trade association for the professional audiovisual communications industry.
