Associations Focus: Award Winners Announced

Electronic Lifestyles Awards Banquet, held Sept. 10 at CEDIA EXPO 2005.
CEDIA honored the best in the industry during the annual Electronic Lifestyles Awards Banquet held Saturday, Sept. 10, during CEDIA EXPO 2005. Awards were given out for the Designers' Choice Awards, Manufacturers' Excellence Awards, and Industry Awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to Billilynne Keller, executive director of CEDIA.
The Designers' Choice Awards were voted on by residential electronic system contractors at the Electronic Lifestyles voting kiosk during EXPO. With a record-breaking number of entries, this year's Designers' Choice Awards were very competitive.
CEDIA EXPO 2005: BETTER THAN EVER!
The 2005 CEDIA EXPO set record attendance with more than 26,000 attendees and more than 550 exhibitors. For five days, Sept. 7 through 11, the industry's best gathered in Indianapolis to share information, learn about new technology, and continue to build the fourth contractor industry.
CEDIA University offered more courses than ever in its five core curriculums. The EST curricula offered 26 courses alone. Close to 40 attendees participated in the sold-out EST Boot Camp. In addition, 12 full-day workshops were offered on Sept. 6 and 11.
Installer Olympics winners Mark Depew and Chris Dennis from Chesapeake Smart Homes in Stevensville, Md., showed what they were made of as they demonstrated their skills against 17 other teams. Depew and Dennis came out on top after competing in the AmpToss, Attic Crawl, Van Load, Olympic Fishing, Video Calibration Shootout, Wiring Integrity, and Installer Open categories.
