Associations Focus: Register for NSCA’s Business & Leadership Conference

Jan 1, 2009 12:00 PM

The Women in NSCA reception is one of many social-networking events available at NSCA’s 2009 Business & Leadership Conference.

Interactive sessions have distinguished NSCA’s Business & Leadership Conference — sponsored by InfoComm International — from other industry events and cemented the importance of and value in engaging with other business owners, managers, and industry representatives facing similar challenges.

Popular events such as Beer ‘n’ Bull provide an open-mic opportunity to discuss the state of the industry. This year’s session will include contractors and consultants in an effort to facilitate improved contractor/consultant relations. In addition, social-networking events such as the Women in NSCA reception, beach party, and closing-night Wild West Roundup provide attendees with the chance to mingle with top integrators in a relaxed, casual environment.

NSCA will also recognize contractors who have excelled in areas such as marketing, sales, and financial success with the Excellence in Business Awards at the opening-night dinner. The official kick-off to the conference also provides opportunities to discuss new techniques, tactics, and strategies to improve your business year after year.

The NSCA Business & Leadership Conference will be held Feb. 26-28, 2009, at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix. To learn more or register, visit www.nsca.org/blc or call (800) 446-6722. Conference fees are $1,049.

A/E TOOLKIT FOCUSES ON SALES IN A TOUGH ECONOMY

Improve your sales performance in light of the current economic challenges with NSCA’s recently updated building information resource, the A/E Toolkit.

Between financial restructuring and recessionary pressures, the new material added to the A/E Toolkit site provides important best practices in sales during these uncertain times. The website is designed to help NSCA members develop, maintain, and convert relationships with architects, engineers, and construction professionals into increased sales.

Twelve new articles and white papers were added to the Marketing & Business Development section. This new content focuses on trends that affect effective sales, new market analysis, and sales-management ideas. The calendar has also been updated with sales-focused industry events, additional links to professional trade associations within the industry, and industry news for building industry publications.

Unique to the low-voltage industry, the A/E Toolkit provides essential resources for systems integrators and contractors, including more than 300 articles on best practices for working within the building industry. Anyone who registers has access to free content; NSCA members have additional access to premium content. To start using the A/E Toolkit, visit www.nsca.org/aetoolkit.
