Sound Systems Design Guide to be developedThe 1997 Theodore John Schultz Grant for Advancement of Teaching andResearch in Architectural Acoustics, sponsored by the Robert BradfordNewman Student Award Fund, has been awarded to Neil Thompson Shade,president and principal consultant of Acoustical Design Collaborative,Ltd., based in Falls Church, VA. The grant money will be used to developthe Sound Systems Design Guide for instructional use by faculty andstudents in schools of architecture. The work will cover the basics ofsound systems design, its integration within buildings and requirements forcontract documents.
