AMX ACQUIRES MULTIMEDIA DISTRIBUTOR ENDELEO
To expand its capabilities in TV and multimedia distribution, control, and digital signage, AMX has acquired UK-based Endeleo. AMX has formed a new group called the Endeleo Group, which will focus on market and product development. The product family will be branded Endeleo, and all individual product models will maintain their original model names. A fast-growing company in the AV industry, Endeleo delivers media over easily installed, dedicated Cat-5 cable at lengths of up to 3,000ft.
CEA, COMPTIA ANNOUNCE HOME TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATOR CERTIFICATION
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) are collaborating on a new certification, the CEA-CompTIA Digital Home Technology Integrator+. The CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ is targeted at those who install, service, and maintain digital home products. Technicians seeking this advanced-level certification should have 18 months to 24 months experience in some area of home integration. A beta version of the certification is available for a limited time through Thomson Prometric and Pearson Vue testing centers around the world.
ARTISON SUBWOOFER AWARDED BY CEA
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) selected the Artison RCC 600 in-wall subwoofer as an Innovations 2007 Showcase Honoree. Engineered by loudspeaker designer Cary Christie and the Artison design team, the RCC 600 reactance-canceling in-wall subwoofer was chosen in the High Performance Audio category by a panel of journalists and AV executives who judged more than 1,000 entries on industrial design, aesthetics, quality, and usability, among other attributes.
