INTELLIGENT ACOUSTICS FORMED
A team of architectural, acoustical design, and pro audio industry veterans including Courtney Spencer, Dave Malekpour, Ken Harrison, Beth Walters, and John Storyk have formed a new company called Intelligent Acoustics to offer acoustic consulting services and assistance in applying or installing specialized acoustical materials and products. The company will serve a wide range of markets, including audio and video studios, broadcast facilities, audiophile/home theaters, performance venues, houses of worship, schools, and corporate clients.
YAMAHA RELEASES INSTRUCTIONAL DVD
Yamaha Professional Audio is offering a new instructional DVD, Exploring Sound Reinforcement, which serves as an update to the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook. The two-hour-plus disc includes five sections covering basic sound system components and how they fit together, sample system setups, mixing and monitoring techniques, good working practices, and troubleshooting. The DVD was produced by content company Keyfax NewMedia in cooperation with Yamaha and Shure.
SONANCE ACQUIRES SOUND ADVANCE SYSTEMS' PATENTS
Loudspeaker manufacturer Sonance has acquired all trademarks and the exclusive global rights to manufacture and market flat-panel technology loudspeakers based on Sound Advance Systems' patents. The agreement gives Sonance control of all of Sound Advance Systems' operations. Sound Advance customers will continue to have access to Sound Advance products.
