RUSSOUND TAKES EDUCATION ON THE ROAD
Russound has unveiled a new education program to teach audio and video professionals how to sell, install, and profit from multi-room AV systems. The “All Wired Up” Russound RNET 2006 Tour will provide hands-on RNET training in 26 U.S. cities, allowing consumer electronics professionals to learn new skills locally, rather than having to take time out of busy schedules to travel.
SPRING CONFERENCE OFFERS RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
Internet Home Alliance's spring 2006 Collaborative Research Planning Conference will be held March 28-29, 2006, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. The conference gives participants an opportunity to hear the latest connected home research and then work side-by-side with other attendees to develop relevant connected home solution concepts for testing within the Alliance's collaborative, multi-company research program. Spring conference attendees will hear and discuss key findings from the alliance's comprehensive 2005 State of the Connected Home Market Research study.
Conference passes are free for Alliance members; non-members may purchase passes for $495 each. Space is restricted to 200 attendees.
ACQUISITION EXPANDS SECURITY COMPANY'S OPERATIONS
National Guardian Security Services has acquired two alarm monitoring companies: Corporate Security Management and Strong Alarm. The acquisitions significantly expand National Guardian's client base and geographic footprint. Florida-based Corporate Security Management provides electronic security installation and service to multi-location regional and national accounts and will serve as National Guardian's Florida base of operations. Strong Alarm provides high-quality alarm and security services to local, regional, and national account customers throughout the Kansas City region and will become one of National Guardian's Midwest branch offices.
COMPANY MOVES TO MAKE ROOM FOR A DEMONSTRATION CENTER
RP Visual Solutions has moved to a larger facility at 1102 E. Washington Avenue in Santa Ana, Calif., in order to provide space for its new Visualization Demonstration Center (VDC). The new space will incorporate a 14'×33' front projection surface area, allowing AV dealers and consultants choose from a variety of rear-projection technologies (diffusion, optical, optical/diffusion) for side-by-side comparisons. The room will also be equipped with signal generators, display sources, light measurement tools, and test jigs for validating manufacturers' specifications and optics.
