PEERLESS DE MEXICO SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH GRUPO TELEVISA
Peerless de Mexico, a wholly owned subsidiary of Peerless Industries, has signed an agreement with Grupo Televisa to design, develop, and integrate digital signage networks in Mexico. Peerless Industries will provide more than 5,000 custom mounting solutions to be placed in retail locations across Mexico in 2006.
Under the terms of the agreement, Peerless will design specific mounts for targeted locations, supply certified professional-grade mounting solutions, and develop a training program for the installation teams to ensure every mount is intstalled securely.
BARCO DEBUTS EXTERNAL DESKTOP MULTI-WINDOWING SYSTEM
Barco introduced the world's first external desktop multi-windowing system, the XDS-1000, at EAGE 2006 in Vienna, Austria in early June. Using the familiar Windows XP interface, users can easily display multiple mono and stereo sources in sizeable, high-resolution windows on a seamless screen. Several locations, such as networked meeting rooms, can be visually linked for efficient multi-site collaboration.
FURMAN SOUND INKS DEAL WITH FENDER
Furman Sound partners with the newly created Wholesale division of Fender Musical Instruments to distribute Furman's AC power conditioning products. FMI Wholesale will showcase Furman's products through its internal sales force, field sales staff, and tradeshow presence. The collaboration will allow retailers and smaller dealers to benefit from improved profit opportunities through FMI Wholesale.
MEDIASITE RECORDINGS DISTRIBUTED VIA PODCAST
Sonic Foundry has made any presentation recorded using its Mediasite system available for distribution as a podcast. The Mediasite podcasting solution will convert presentations in designated Mediasite catalogs into the MP3 audio format available for subscription and download to iTunes or similar media player software.
Faculty and students at the University of Pittsburgh have already tested the service. They used Mediasite's podcasting capabilities to transfer audio versions of online course content to their portable MP3 players, permitting mobile access to class information.
KRAMER ELECTRONICS CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Since 1981, Kramer Electronics has been developing and distributing signal management solutions to professionals in the pro AV, broadcast, production, and presentation AV markets. More than one million Kramer products are in use around the world, in applications ranging from military bases near the North Pole to houses of worship. As of Jan. 1, 2006, Kramer began its 25th anniversary celebration with the announcement of a seven-year warranty on its product line to reward its customers.
