CEDIA Applauds NBC

NBC announced that select events of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics will be broadcast in high definition in cooperation with HDNet. It’s a testament to the growing demand for state-of-the-art custom electronics, said CEDIA representatives. Viewers with HDTV will be able to enjoy these events with incredible picture quality, wide-screen presentation and digital surround-sound audio.

“We are excited that NBC is providing the best possible programming for the Olympics,” said Jeff Hoover, president of CEDIA. “We thank NBC and HDNet for bringing this to the public. By providing this breakthrough coverage of a world-class event, NBC is creating awareness for the technologies CEDIA members deliver, in conjunction with manufacturers of home entertainment and automation products.”
