Panasonic VP Remembered

J. Michael Brinkman, vice president of strategic business development for Panasonic Broadcast and Television Systems Company, died March 16 in Santa Clarita, California. He was a 16-year Panasonic employee. Brinkman directed the company's Technology Partnering Program, where he worked with more than 30 of the industry's leading manufacturers to incorporate Panasonic's digital compression technologies into their products and systems. He was a longtime member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and the International Teleproduction Society and a founding member of the Hollywood Post Alliance.

A/V Industry Loses Educational Leader

Kim Milliken, of Da-Lite Screen Company and founder of Optixx Screen Systems, died at the age of 59. He spent more than 25 years in the audiovisual industry. In 1995 Milliken began authoring a monthly series of technical papers entitled “Angles of View,” which discussed the various aspects of visual displays. In 2002 ICIA awarded Milliken InfoComm's Distinguished Achievement Award.
