Industry Pioneer Leaves a Legacy

Donald Kliewer of Monroe, Wisconsin, died on January 9, 2003, at the age of 66. He created hundreds of acoustical products and held more than 30 U.S. patents. Kliewer began his career with Telex Corp. and worked with numerous loudspeaker companies, including Electro-Voice, JBL, Altec, SoundTube, and Koss Electronics. During the past decade, he grew his own manufacturing business, Winslow Industries, an OEM manufacturer of crossovers for specialty loudspeaker manufacturers. He was a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers and various electronic trade organizations.
