A simplified version of the House Ear Institute's (HEI) hearing in noise test (HINT), a test for evaluating functional hearing ability in noisy conditions, is now accessible online. The HINT is being offered on these two Web sites as the HINT-FS (hearing in noise test — functional screener). Based on the HINT technology, the HINT-FS detects a person's difficulty understanding speech in background noise while not being subjected to the variances in computer speakers. The online test measures speech recognition within a variety of noisy situations using a fixed (or constant) signal-to-noise ratio.
Da-Lite Screen Company recently redesigned its Web site. The site contains many new options that make it more interactive and easier to access information about the company's products. Product information, size charts, specifications, drawings, and installation manuals are available under the Products section. The Education section of the Web site has been expanded to include Da-Lite Academy, which tests your knowledge about projection technology. Da-Lite's Screen Design software is also available for download from the Web site so that you can design a custom screen saver.
Design and Integration, an audiovisual contractor in Baltimore, has a new Web site, The site has made its online debut with new, easy-to-navigate pages and a new Equipment Research Center page. The site is vivid in color and lively at the movement of the cursor. Pictures of the company's past work are ready for viewing on the site.
