D.A.S. Audio announced that Carlos A. Henao has been appointed to new positions in sales and technical support. According to the company, the addition of Henao gives D.A.S. Audio’s U.S. headquarters another qualified professional to assist customers with operational aspects of the company’s products while also helping prospective customers make the best product selections for their applications. His role has been in effect since January.

In his new capacity, Henao will serve as the company’s U.S. regional sales account representative, where he will identify sales opportunities, assist customers with product selections, and guide them through each aspect of the sales transaction. He will also assume an active role as an application specialist, conducting product demonstrations, responding to inquiries, and providing field application support to both touring sound and installation professionals.

Henao traveled extensively throughout Latin America and Europe, serving as both front-of-house and monitor engineer for a number of touring acts. For the past 20 years, he operated his own production company–Paradise Production Services–and was responsible for a variety of high-profile installations, including Miami’s Club Space, Club Level, and Prive, as well as the Jet Lounge in New York. He also spent 10 years as the production manager/audio engineer for singer, actress, and model Grace Jones. In this capacity, Henao handled all aspects of Ms. Jones’ performances worldwide. Additionally, he held the title of programmer/audio technician at the Las Vegas Hilton, where he mixed production shows and bands as well as oversaw the installation, programming, tuning, and maintenance of the facility’s audio, lighting, video, and automation systems.

“I’m honored to be joining the D.A.S. Audio team,” said Henao. “D.A.S. is well entrenched in both the pro touring and installation markets and, with my background and experience, I feel well-equipped to step into the responsibilities of my new position.”

“Carlos brings an extensive pro audio background to his new position with D.A.S.,” said Jaime Villegas, D.A.S. Audio USA’s general manager, in a statemtn. “Carlos has worked in the live sound trenches, so he understands first-hand the issues that routinely confront live-sound professionals. Similarly, the experience he gained from working at such prestigious resorts as the Las Vegas Hilton make him very well-suited to interface with system integrators as they blend audio and video into today’s sophisticated multimedia presentation systems.”
