Ray Basile has been named Vice President of the recently re-branded New Media Group for DMX Music, a global leader in digital music and visual imaging programming with more than 100 million daily listeners in homes and businesses. Basile will remain in the Seattle office of Austin-based DMX Music.

“The video division’s re-branding as the New Media Group is a solid indication of how far things have come under Ray’s leadership and signals a new and exciting direction for the department,” noted Alan Furst, Senior Vice President of Content at DMX Music. “Ray is the perfect person to take DMX Music to new levels, leading the company to explore emerging opportunities for visual content.”

Basile has been in the video and imaging industry for more than 25 years, having introduced the first branded retail video programs in the late 1980s. Since he began at DMX Music in 1999, he has led the visual content through the evolution of the hottest trends and the development of new technology.

As Vice President of the New Media Group, Basile will work closely with the company’s Austin leadership to develop strategic positioning and branded imaging campaigns that make DMX Music the benchmark of the industry. He will also develop ongoing relationships with record labels and other non-music video content sources and will continue to play an integral role with new business prospects by providing continued support to the national sales group as the gatekeeper for the company’s creative vision.

New responsibilities will include piloting DMX Music into previously untapped non-retail opportunities. As streaming video technology continues to evolve to include new platforms, Basile will keep DMX Music on the cutting edge of developing creative opportunities as well as potential new revenue streams.

Prior to joining DMX Music, Basile was Creative Director for National Video, Inc. in Anaheim, Calif. where his breakthrough work was recognized with four Telly awards and an Addy. He was also instrumental in the launch of branded retail video at Site & Sound Entertainment in Seattle.
