DT Research Expands Display Sizes

DT Research used InfoComm to showcase a new selection of display sizes for its WebDT digital signage system. Choices now include 12-inch, 42-inch, and 65-inch displays, in addition to the company’s previous offerings of 26-, 37-, and 47-inch systems.

“The WebDT Signage System has been developed to help businesses easily design and deploy a comprehensive digital signage network,” said Dr. Daw Tsai, president of DT Research. “Whether it’s a retailer, school, sit-down or fast-food restaurant, or an airport, companies can now integrate a wide array of display sizes into one network and strategically place a variety of display sizes at appropriate locations.”

The smallest of the selection, the DS1200, is a 12-inch display and integrated media player with a touch screen option. An embedded computing unit comes with optional built-in wireless connectivity that allows it to connect to a network of other devices. The DS1200’s small size makes it appropriate for a range of deployments, such as tableside ordering in restaurants and price-checking on grocery shelves, according to the company.

The DS4200 42-inch display is a high-resolution LCD with an integrated, accessible media player. With a 15mm bezel frame, the display works in multiscreen applications, such as menu boards at fast-food restaurants or flight/gate information at airports. It also integrates with DT Research’s SA1004 digital signage appliance, which drives content over multiple displays for a video-wall configuration. The DS4200 supports HD resolution so customers can use a single digital signage appliance to control multiple digital panels displaying 1080p images.

The 65-inch DS6500 LCD is capable of displaying digital content in up to 1080p. The panel includes an accessible, removable media player, which gives businesses the ability to upgrade the appliance without replacing the display. An optional touch-screen interface offers greater interactivity. The size of the DS6500 suits it for applications with large audiences, such as malls, theaters, houses of worship, or stadiums.

All three display models will be available third quarter 2008 directly from DT Research or through authorized resellers.
