Scott Jones and Thomas Doherty were awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurof the Year, 1999, in the Technology/Software/Internet category forIndiana. The company they founded, Escient, develops products that mergeInternet power with home entertainment devices. Being named first in theregional finals, Jones and Doherty are now eligible for the national Ernst& Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, the award honoring outstandingowners of fast-growing companies.
