GDS Announces its Electronic Design Service

Global Display Solutions (GDS), market leader in the design and manufacture of industrial displays, announces the availability of its new Electronic Design Service. This innovative service enables GDS to help its customers design new display systems for specific projects. With more than 30 years’ experience, GDS has a unique understanding of how to develop individual display solutions in accordance with a customer’s commercial and technical requirements. Ultimately, the Electronic Design Service will support GDS’s customers in developing new products that reduce costs, improve quality and reliability, while improving yields.
GDS to date has developed display solutions for major customers including NCR, Diebold, Raymarine, GE Medical, Siemens, and Marconi. As a world-leading manufacturer of display solutions, GDS has the know-how to design displays for a number of industries in order to help companies achieve their goals.
GDS’s design service ranges from full turnkey product design and cost reduction developments to design with component obsolescence in mind. From design development to legacy support, GDS works closely with its customers to provide tailor made solutions which best fit with each specific application. With a team of more than 40 engineers, GDS provides its customers with dedicated specialists in all Monitor LCD areas of display technology.
A short time to market is crucial for launching new products. Therefore, this new service has been put in place to ensure rapid prototyping from functional samples right through to production, complete with Manufacturing Data Pack (MDP). GDS’s engineering team designs for manufacture in order to ensure a smooth transition to volume production. In addition, GDS carries out all testing on the end products and provides customers with complete test summary reports to ensure proper functionality and product quality prior to production release.
To date, GDS has developed a wide range of displays in both metal and plastic enclosures. The company’s core competence is in the area of sunlight readability, thermal management, outdoor display systems, IP65, ruggedisation, optical enhancement, self diagnostics, PC integration, long video source connection, and legacy support.
