George Gunning Leads New NBFAA Executive Committee

George Gunning took the helm as president of the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) on July 1, 2006, along with a new executive committee representing the national scope of the electronic security industry’s largest professional trade association. Gunning becomes the first NBFAA president from the western United States in more than 30 years.

“The NBFAA provides an organizational structure that allows us to work together to enhance the environment in which we all conduct our business,” says Gunning, chief executive officer, USA Alarm Systems, Monrovia, Calif. “It provides a gathering place for our industry, and our members who are responsible for more than 70 percent of the work being done in the electronic security and fire/life safety industry.”

Gunning received the 2003 Morris F. Weinstock Award, is past president of the California Alarm Association, and is founding chairman of the Western Burglar & Fire Alarm Association UATC Fire/Life Safety Apprenticeship and Training Committee. He has been an active member of the security industry for more than 20 years, and has held leadership positions in local, state, and national trade associations.
