Imagine Communications, developer of the industry’s most powerful and scalable PersonalizedTV platform, announced the appointment of cable and broadband industry leader Jamie Howard to the position of president and chief executive officer.

Howard joins Imagine Communications with more than 20 years of leadership experience in the digital media, cable, and broadband communications markets, and has a highly successful history leading innovative start-ups and large established companies with the introduction of new digital TV, voice, and data services, both domestically and internationally. He joins Imagine fresh on the heels of the June launch of the company’s initial PersonalizedTV platform, the QOD Gateway, designed to enable system operators to cost-effectively deliver PersonalizedTV services on a massive scale, including VOD (Video on Demand), HD-VOD, targeted ads and personalized audio.

“We’re at the early stages of an exciting shift away from legacy scheduled broadcast TV toward an unprecedented consumer-controlled content experience,” says Howard. “This personalized, on-demand type of viewing presents operators with rich new revenue streams and profit opportunities but stresses bandwidth resources and video quality. Imagine’s core technology platform meets these challenges while giving operators greater control and flexibility over their network assets.”

Howard continued, “Imagine has a world-class team and best-of-breed technology. I’m delighted to be joining them at this critical phase as we transition from product development toward customer deployments and growth.”
