Crown Receives Quality Certification

Crown International has received ISO 9001:2000 certification of its Quality Management System. Crown originally achieved certification to the ISO 9002:1994 standard in 1999. This new version of the ISO quality standard places a greater emphasis on top management involvement in the Quality System as well as a focus on continual improvement. Additionally, the audit for compliance with the standard now examines the extent to which a company's Quality System contains customer-focused elements, including understanding needs, meeting requirements, keeping customers informed, and measuring end-user satisfaction.

Medialon Provides Global Show Control

Alex Carru, president and CEO of Medialon, announced the opening of Medialon Inc. Headquartered in Miami, the new entity distributes and pioneers further applications of the company's Manager show control software and Display integrated signage controllers. Show control veteran Ken Bell is applications engineer. Medialon software has been used for corporations, museums, and theme parks in Europe since its first release in 1997.

Growth Spurs Shure Reorganization

Shure has reorganized its sales and marketing functions into distinct business units focused on specific markets. Those units include: Shure U.S., headed up by vice president and general manager Al Hershner; Shure Europe, overseen by managing director Markus Winkler; Shure Asia, managed by Rob Ascough, managing director; Shure International Americas, Middle East, and Africa, directed by general manager Jane Wilke; and Shure Communications, Shure's mobile communications subsidiary, run by Shawn Stahmer, managing director. In addition to the business units, a global marketing team representing product development, directed by Mark Brunner; market integration, managed by Kimberley Britton; market research, overseen by Jim Santilli; and global support services, headed up by Jim Furst, will synthesize regional and market-specific feedback to help bring the right products to the right customer.

Dimes & Sillitoe Adds Mackie

Public Relations specialist Dimes and Sillitoe has begun services with a new client: professional audio equipment developer and manufacturer Mackie Designs. Dimes and Sillitoe is assisting Mackie's global public relations manager, Kyle Ritland, with all United Kingdom and European press strategies for Mackie, as well as sister brands EAW and RCF.
