iPort, AVAD Complete Distribution Agreement

iPort, maker of the first in-wall music system for iPod, has announced a distribution agreement with AVAD, the leading U.S. distributor of custom home entertainment technology, to offer all iPort in-wall and free standing models, as well as iPort accessories. AVAD will begin marketing iPort products in early December.
“The demand for iPort has been very strong, and our strategy is to have our products readily available to installers on a local basis,” says Peter Brown, iPort vice president of sales and marketing. “AVAD is well respected as more than just a place to buy product. They support their dealers with service and training at a very high level, which is consistent with the iPort commitment to superior installer service and satisfaction.”
“We’re excited to be one of the first home technology distributors to offer iPort to our dealers,” says Bob Gartland, president of AVAD. “This is an accessory that belongs in every standard or distributed audio system, and it’s important to make them available where installers can access them quickly.”
iPort will also continue to sell on a direct basis to qualified installers and retailers.
