JEC and NCTA develop standard

The Joint Engineering Committee (JEC) of the Consumer ElectronicsManufacturers Association (CEMA) and the National Cable TelevisionAssociation (NCTA) developed standard EIA-23, the RF interfacespecification for television receiving devices and cable televisionsystems. With the standard, the consumer electronics and cable industrieshave definitions that will help improve the performance of both the cablesystem and consumer electronics equipment.
