An an agreement between Korea Telecom and Tandberg Television was signed to expand Korea Telecom’s capabilities in content contribution by using an advanced Tandberg solution to link 29 television content providers around Korea.
Korea Telecom will provide a full chain of content contribution services to the 29 content providers distributed throughout Korea. Sixty channels of TV content will be digitized and transmitted through Korea Telecom’s facilities to Korea Digital Satellite Broadcasting, the exclusive direct-to-home satellite television platform in Korea.
The complete system, which is supplied through Tandberg’s business partner Mereta, includes Tandberg 5710 encoders, an MA5300 ATM network interface solution, TT 7050 multiplexers and TT 1250 decoders.
