Leitch Technology, a provider of HD/SD solutions for professional digital video, announced it would make contributions to disaster relief funds on behalf of TV stations affected by recent hurricanes along the Gulf Coast. Until April 30, 2006, Leitch will donate 10 percent of all sales proceeds from the affected stations to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund or a station-designated local relief fund.

Stations can apply to qualify for the disaster relief program if they are located in the affected region (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida) and have been impacted by the recent hurricanes. Details of the program are available through your Leitch regional sales manager or by calling (888) 525-2599.

“We have long-standing relationships with many broadcasters in the Gulf Coast region and have already deployed a tremendous amount of equipment to aid stations in the re-establishment of their mass communication services so they can get back on-air as quickly as possible,” says Tim Thorsteinson, Leitch president and CEO. “By contributing a portion of sales proceeds back to the communities, our goal is to partner with broadcasters as they rebuild, while contributing to the overall relief efforts in the surrounding communities.”
