The 856-seat Albert Ivar Goodman Theatre sets the stage for such acclaimed plays as

Long Day’s Journey Into Night

by Eugene O’Neill. Situated in downtown Chicago, the theater has installed four new MacPherson IS12 full-range loudspeakers to complement its audio system. Ten IS12 speakers were installed in the smaller Owen Bruner Goodman Theatre last fall and proved their worth enough for Goodman house engineer David Naunton to choose them again. The larger theater now has two IS12s installed in the lower mezzanine and two in the upper mezzanine, to be used for rear-of-house sound effects and surround sound in conjunction with the existing system. The compact IS12s have a 12-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver for smooth, even coverage. “The IS12s [are] the ideal solution for wall-mounted surround…And their portability is such that we plan to use them between the two theaters,” Naunton reports.
