The Norwegian Midas Distributor, AVAB CAC, was chosen to provide sound systems for the wedding of Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway and Mette Marit Tjessem Hoiby. The wedding, which took place on August 25, 2002, took place in Oslo Catherdral and was broadcast to a television audience of approximately 100 million viewers. Midas products were used in the catherdral, for the ceremony itself, and for the following dinner and party at the Royal Castle in Oslo. The main installation challenge in the cathedral was the need for a very unobtrusive console. The small Midas Venice 240 was chosen because it wouldn’t take away from the traditional look of the cathedral. At the dinner and dance, free from the restrictions of the cathedral, AVAB CAC decided to use the Heritage 1000 console, positioned on the balcony above the guests.
