NEC Display Solutions of America rolled out a new projector to support the trend toward wide-screen notebook PCs used in more enterprises today. The NEC NP3151W is a 4000-lumen, high-brightness LCD projector for installation in boardrooms, training rooms, lecture halls, and meeting rooms.

With a 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution, the projector supports users with widescreen notebook computers, because the image has a 16:10 native aspect ratio. Also, the NP3151W’s ability to connect to wireless networks allows users to show and control presentations from their notebooks without cables.

The product is also designed to deliver home theater-level video quality, featuring advanced HQV video processing, detail enhancement, contrast enhancement, advanced signal noise filtering, and advanced technologies to eliminate undesirable de-interlacing imperfections. Optional bayonet-style, quick-mount lenses allow flexible placement of the projector to suit the needs of the room, producing a screen size from 40 inches to 500 inches.

The NP3151W uses Windows Network Projector functionality within Windows VistaT via the wireless adapter or integrated RJ45 without the need for additional software. The projector begins shipping this month with an estimated price of $4,999.
