Niles Audio Corporation, the company behind the award-winning IntelliControl ICS (Integrated Control Solutions) whole-house audio distribution system, announced that its vice president of sales and marketing, Mike “Sparky” Detmer, has been selected to serve on the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) Multi-Room Audio Video (MRAV) council board. Detmer currently oversees Niles’ corporate branding and worldwide sales as well as customer satisfaction, technical support, and training.

“I’m looking forward to providing input that will contribute to the future growth of our industry,” Detmer says. “There’s so much that consumer electronics professionals will benefit from learning; whether it’s educating manufacturers about the dynamics of projecting their brand essence into the marketplace, or developing guidelines for more effective training for dealers. This committee will serve as an important resource.”

The MRAV Council provides a forum for discussion and initiative development to benefit the multi-room audio and video sectors of the industry. With the continued increase in new home starts and with more new homes being wired for sound, the MRAV Council provides education and builds awareness via the media, builders, integrators, and other allied industries.

Detmer has served as a board member of the CEA Distributed Audio Subcommittee, Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA), and Professional Audio Retailers Association (PARA). He joined Niles in 1998, after serving as vice president of sales and marketing for Krell Industries, a manufacturer of ultra high-end audio/video components.
